Choral Setting – Nevermore
This work, intended for SATB and piano, was written to be an adaptation of the infamous poem “The Raven” from Edgar Allen Poe. The intention is to take both the performers and audience on a journey back to that night “so dark and dreary” and bring to life Poe’s famous text. The title derives from the poem’s most famous character, the Raven itself, and its legendary line “Nevermore” that the ghastly bird used to torment the poem’s narrator.
This piece was written as one of the pieces to be featured in my forthcoming senior composition recital in either Fall 2016 or Spring 2017 still to be determined.
